[QT 묵상] 창세기 14장 1-12절 (Genesis)

  아브람이 롯을 구출하다(Lot’s Captivity and Rescue)

1 이 당시에 시날 왕 아므라벨과 엘라살 왕 아리옥과 엘람 왕 그돌라오 멜과 고임 왕 디달이
2 소돔 왕 베라, 고모라 왕 비르사, 아드마 왕 시납, 스보임 왕 세메벨, 그리고 벨라 곧 소알 왕과 전쟁을 하고 있었다.
3 뒤에 말한 이 다섯 왕들은 오늘날 사해가 된 싯딤 골짜기에 연합 전선을 폈다.
4 이들은 12년 동안 그돌라오멜의 지배를 받아오다가 속국 생활 13년째에 반기를 든 것이다.
5 그로부터 년 후에 그돌라오멜과 그와 동맹한 왕들이 군대를 이끌고 나와 아스드롯 – 가르나임에서 르바족을 치고 함에서 수스족을, 기랴다임 평야에서 엠족을 쳤으며
6 또 세일산에서 호리족을 쳐서 광야 근처의 엘 – 바란까지 그들을 추격하였다.
7 그런 다음 그들은 방향을 돌려 가데스로 알려진 엔 – 미스밧으로 가서 아말렉족의 온 땅과 하사손 – 다말에 사는 아모리족을 쳐서 대패시켰다.
8-9 그때 소돔 왕과 고모라 왕과 아드마 왕 과 스보임 왕과 벨라 곧 소알 왕이 나와 싯딤 골짜기에서 네 나라의 대적과 맞서 싸웠는데 그 네 대적은 엘람 왕 그돌라오멜과 고임 왕 디달과 시날 왕 아므라벨과 엘라살 왕 아리옥이었다.
10 싯딤 골짜기에는 역청 구덩이가 많았다. 그래서 소돔과 고모라 왕이 달아날 때에 그들의 병사들이 역청 구덩이에 빠지고 살아 남은 자들은 산으로 도망하였다.
11 그러자 그들의 대적인 네 왕이 소돔과 고모라의 재물과 식량을 모조리 빼앗아 갔으며
12 소돔에 사는 아브람의 조카 롯도 붙잡아 가고 그의 재산까지 약탈해 갔다.
1 And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations, 
2 that they made war with Bera king of Sodom, Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar). 
3 All these joined together in the Valley of Siddim (that is, the Salt Sea). 
4 Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.
5 In the fourteenth year Chedorlaomer and the kings that were with him came and attacked the Rephaim in Ashteroth Karnaim, the Zuzim in Ham, the Emim in Shaveh Kiriathaim, 
6 and the Horites in their mountain of Seir, as far as El Paran, which is by the wilderness. 
7 Then they turned back and came to En Mishpat (that is, Kadesh), and attacked all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites who dwelt in Hazezon Tamar.
8 And the king of Sodom, the king of Gomorrah, the king of Admah, the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar) went out and joined together in battle in the Valley of Siddim 
9 against Chedorlaomer king of Elam, Tidal king of [b]nations, Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar—four kings against five. 
10 Now the Valley of Siddim was full of asphalt pits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled; some fell there, and the remainder fled to the mountains. 
11 Then they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their provisions, and went their way. 
12 They also took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.

• 자신이 강점이라고 생각하는 것이 자신에게 단점으로 작용하곤 함

  나의 묵상 (Quiet Time)

롯은 비옥한 땅을 떠났지만 포로가 되고 말았습니다. 상황이 어렵고 힘들때 그리고 욕심으로 인해 하나님은 까맣게 잊고 자신만을 생각하게 되는 보통의 사람을 보는 것 같습니다. 큐티를 묵상할 때 마다 작아지는 저를 보게 됩니다. 하나님의 말씀을 귀담아 듣지 않는 성경에서의 여러 등장 인물들이 나를 가르키는 것은 아닌가. 아브라함처럼 의인뿐만 아니라 하나님의 부르심을 받지 않는 사람들도 등장하면서, 저와 같은 부족한 사람들은 한 없이 부끄럽게 되고 겸손할 수 밖에 없게 됩니다. 그리고 또한 아브라함처럼 사랑과 관용을 가진 사람이 되어야겠다는 다짐을 하게 됩니다. 롯처럼 선택의 기로에 서 있을때 저는 하나님을 따라갈 수 있는 그런 용기를 가진 사람이 되어 다른 사람의 포로가 되지 않기를 소망합니다.
